"This TAG Cares award/adoptee support for these clients has touched some deep wounds in a healing way. So important to have that part seen and cared for. Some breakthrough moments in therapy, an unexpected part of this award!"

-Suzanne Dirstine MSW, LICSW

TAG CARES FAQ

  • A program that provides mental health financial awards for adoptees.

  • All adoptees. This includes trans-racial, inter-country and domestic adoptees.

  • TAG Cares has selected adoptee applicants ranging in a need for mental health care, grief support, wellness coach sessions, citizenship support and specialized education. We encourage adoptees to apply.

  • A professional or organization that provides the service is chosen by the adoptee thus the location will likely be in the state that the adoptee lives in or by video communication from any location.

  • It is known that adoptees have a unique life-long journey of seeking identity, a need to belong and a desire to have healthy relationships.  Many adoptees have thriving lives, while some are hindered by mental health challenges, or PTSD that may cause symptoms of depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and more. TAG Cares is created to advance the lives of adoptees.

  • Starting January 2022

    1. A professional, or a family member can refer an adoptee as an applicant to the TAG Cares program. An adoptee may also apply for themselves.

    2. Criteria for selected applicants will be based on the financial status and urgency of the need.

    3. Applicants must be willing to share profile information, financial circumstances and their mental health story.

    4. Awards will be paid directly to the professional or organization providing the service.

    5. Adoptees must use the award within 60 days from the date that it is awarded.
